'Shattered' transtasman rower pressing on

The New Zealand transtasman rower Shaun Quincey says he's mentally shattered by this week's ordeal in bad weather, but is more determined than ever to get home.

It's day 36 for the rower, who has covered more than 1400 kilometres of the Tasman Sea since setting out from the Australian east coast.

He issued a distress signal on Wednesday after his boat tipped over two-thirds of the way across the Tasman.

On his website he says that an overnight stocktake revealed the loss of small items, including sunglasses, a hat, gloves and a knife.
