Four Taranaki iwi have received another $2.2 million of Treaty of Waitangi fisheries assets after agreeing on their coastal boundaries.
Most deepsea quota, shares in Aotearoa Fisheries and cash totalling $17 million had already been handed over by Te Ohu Kaimoana.
With boundaries agreed, the inshore fishing quota and the remaining quarter of deep sea quota have now been allocated
The Taranaki iwi has the longest coastline and receives $950,000. Te Atiawa, Nga-ruahine and Ngati Ruanui each gain about half that amount.
