A man has been charged with murdering a Christchurch woman in her home.
Gaynor White, 62, died in her home in the Port Hills suburb of Huntsbury between Thursday morning and Friday afternoon during what police believe was a burglary.
Shaun Skilling, 22, appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Monday charged with burglary of her home and unlawfully taking her car, along with two unrelated charges.
Police say Mr Skilling has now been charged with murder and will reappear in court on Thursday.
Mr Skilling was arrested after people reported other incidents in the area.
