Police in Christchurch have cordoned off parts of the central city due to a suspicious package.
It was found in a carpark on Kilmore street at about 8:45am on Wednesday.
People have been evacuated from all buildings in the surrounding area.
An army bomb disposal unit was called in to destroy the package.
