A Tokoroa man charged with murdering a toddler who died from severe burns has been sent for trial.
Rikki Hotham, 30, is accused of killing Tyla-Maree Flynn, aged 22 months, in June 2007.
He pleaded not guilty when he appeared in the Tokoroa District Court at a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
The toddler died in hospital after being scalded with hot water, causing burns to her head and upper body.
The accused has again been remanded on bail with strict conditions and will appear in the High Court in September.
