An Auckland woman who left her baby alone in a bath is now facing a murder charge.
Detective Sergeant Megan Goldie says the baby drowned after it was left alone in the bath in November last year.
The woman, 29, appeared in the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday.
She was originally facing a manslaughter charge, but the charge has been upgraded to murder after a review of the evidence.
The trial will begin in August.
