Two men charged with murder after a manhunt near New Plymouth have been remanded in custody.
Mikhail Pandey-Johnson, 23, and Karl Nuku, 18, appeared in New Plymouth District Court on Monday afternoon.
Police say the accused killed Dean Browne and dumped his trussed body in a garage in New Plymouth on Friday night.
A third man, Rhys Fournier, 22, also appeared in court. He is accused of helping the murder accused to evade arrest.
Mr Nuku is from Palmerston North and the other accused are from Auckland, as is the dead man.
Police say the connection between Mr Browne, 38, and the accused is still not clear.
Mr Pandley-Johnson was arrested just before noon on Monday, four hours after armed police found Mr Nuku at a lake reserve just south of New Plymouth.
