Warrant for arrest over suppression breach

7:54 am on 13 December 2014

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a woman charged with breaching a court suppression order and naming a prominent New Zealander.

The warrant was issued in the Christchurch District Court yesterday and relates to breaches of a Dunedin court suppression order, by posting information on a website.

The woman is a 34-year-old New Zealander now living in Australia.

One man, a former MP, has already appeared in Waitakere District Court on the same charge.

He said he was not leading a crusade against name suppression but believed the rights of the victim had been ignored.

Another man was formally warned by police in Whangarei in relation to breaches of the same court order.
