For the second year in a row, Jack and Sophie are the most popular baby names.
According to data released on Tuesday by the office of Births, Deaths and Marriages, Jack has topped the charts of boys' names since 2005.
Sophie has been the most popular name for girls since 2008 and among the top six since 2004.
The deputy registrar-general of Births, Deaths and Marriages, Ross McPherson, says only three new names made the top 10 in 2009. The newcomers were Ruby - the second most popular name for girls - Amelia and Thomas, squeezing out Jessica, Grace and Riley.
