A coroner says conflicting motorcycling rules need to be changed after a racer's death.
Mark Brehaut died when another racer's bike lost power and crashed into him on the last corner of a race in Feilding in 2012.
Coroner Carla na Nagara's report into his death said inconsistent competition and road racing rules about when a racer with a failed bike has to move off the track were unsafe.
But Motorcycling New Zealand said it already amended its rules in September.
