Unsecured security footage made public

The privacy of hundreds of personal surveillance cameras in New Zealand is being compromised on a website streaming footage to the world.

Insecam.com features tens of thousands of CCTV and business surveillance systems from dozens of countries.

It includes 122 New Zealand surveillance systems, which are able to be accessed on the website.

Detailed information on each system's location (including latitude and longitude), city, and manufacturer is shown.

The website also displays a map of where the camera is located.

The website also features surveillance footage from 11,046 cameras in the US, thousands in China, Korea, France and Mexico and dozens of other countries.
