A man accused of strangling Huri King-Mosen, a hairdresser from Wainuiomata, has pleaded guilty to his murder.
Joseph Rota, 24, appeared in the High Court at Wellington, where Justice Collins entered a conviction and read him a First Strike Warning under the three strikes legislation.
Mr King-Mosen lived in the same house as Rota's former partner and her family and the men quarrelled when Rota visited in October last year.
Rota hit Huri King-Mosen in the head, knocking him to the ground, before strangling him.
He has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced in November.
