One person has died and three more have been injured in a car crash on State Highway 25 on the Coromandel Peninsula.
The head-on collision between a four-wheel-drive and a campervan happened about 6.30pm on Friday just north of the Hot Water Beach intersection.
Waikato district road policing manage Inspector Freda Grace said a passenger in the four-wheel-drive died.
Mrs Grace said the driver of the four-wheel-drive has serious injuries and has been flown to Auckland Hospital.
Two passengers in the campervan suffered less serious injuries and have been taken to Thames Hospital by ambulance.
