A light aircraft that sparked a full-scale emergency at Greymouth Airport has landed safely.
The pilot of a four-seater Cherokee had been unable to get the aircraft's landing gear down.
Emergency services were called but police spokesperson Barbara Dunn said the problem with the landing gear was resolved and the plane landed about 12:15pm.
