A South Auckland man remains critically injured after being bashed with a chair.
The police said the 19-year-old man was left with serious head injuries after being attacked in Mangere early on Saturday morning.
The police said the attack was not random and was related to fighting between groups earlier in the evening.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
An Auckland District Health Board spokeswoman said the victim was still in a critical condition in Auckland City Hospital.
