A new measles alert has been issued by Auckland health officials.
Earlier in March, officials confirmed that passengers with measles had been on two Air New Zealand domestic flights at a time when they would have been infectious.
The Auckland Regional Public Health Service now says an infectious person was also on a Singapore Airlines flight from Singapore to Auckland last week.
Auckland's Medical Officer of Health, Richard Hoskins, says most new cases stem from an outbreak at Westlake Boys High School - but other cases being confirmed can't be linked to any others, which indicates measles is circulating.
Dr Hoskins says reaching passengers who sat near the infectious people is a top priority. He says any passengers who caught measles that way should now be starting to feel unwell.
There are now 69 confirmed cases and further suspected cases in the region, up 11 from earlier in the month.
Passengers on the following flights have been exposed to measles:
- Air New Zealand flight NZ501 from Auckland to Christchurch, departing 6.50am on 2 March.
- Air New Zealand flight NZ548 from Christchurch to Auckland, departing 6.55pm on 4 March.
- Singapore Airlines flight SQ285 from Singapore to Auckland, departing 4 March.
