A man who died after a jet boat crash near Haast on Friday has been named. Police say he was Roualeyn Munro, 62, of Otematata.
The private boat carrying four people was travelling up the Waiatoto River with three other boats when it hit a rock and flipped, throwing all four into the river.
Mr Munro was taken to Grey Base Hospital, where he died on Saturday.
The others were not injured. All four were wearing lifejackets.
