A man has died after being injured in a jetboat crash near Haast.
Police search and rescue were called to the Waiatoto River on Friday evening after receiving reports of a crash.
The four people in the private jetboat - all wearing lifejackets - were travelling up river with three other boats when their boat hit a rock and flipped, throwing all four into the river.
Three of them were uninjured in the crash; the fourth was taken to Grey Base Hospital, where he died on Saturday.
The dead man has been named as Roualeyn Munro, 62, of Otematata.
