A large fire in a gas cylinder storage warehouse in Whakatane may be suspicious, the Fire Service says.
The fire at the business in Pohutu Street started about 9.30pm on Friday and caused many of the cylinders to explode.
The Fire Service said it took six fire trucks and staff about two hours to extinguish. No-one was in the building at the time.
