Armed police carried out a series of raids on houses in Petone on Friday morning, using decontamination units to protect officers going into potential drug labs.

Witnesses reported seeing several vehicles full of armed officers involved in the case.
Police said they would not reveal any detail while the operation was underway, except that the raids concerned drugs seizures.
Plunket Street was cordoned off early in the morning and several officers were seen leaving a house carrying several bags.
