A homicide inquiry has been launched in Hamilton after a man died following an attack.
Police were called to Chartwell, in the north of the city, just before 2pm on Wednesday.
The district crime manager for Waikato, Detective Senior Sergeant Nigel Keall, says ambulance crews tried to treat the 38-year-old for significant injuries, but he died at the scene.
Mr Keall says the area is being examined but he is asking anyone who saw anything suspicious around Winstone Avenue between 1pm and 2pm on Tuesday to come forward.
