Two burglars have been caught red-handed in Nelson thanks to a resident testing out his new night vision equipped video camera.
The Hope resident was trying out his the infra-red gear about midnight on Thursday at the Hope Domain when he spotted a man and a woman acting suspiciously.
Police say he filmed the pair breaking into the tennis clubrooms. He then called police and filmed the couple trying to evade officers and their eventual arrest.
A 21-year-old man and a woman, 18, have been charged with burglary and will appear in the Nelson District Court next week.
