A New Zealand woman has been found guilty in an Australian court of importing methamphetamine and heroin valued at $2 million.

Bernadine Prince, a 41-year-old pastor who travelled the world with the Christian evangelical organisation Oasis of Grace, has been in custody since she was arrested in Darwin in May last year.

Customs found 9kg of drugs in her luggage, concealed in the lining of seven empty backpacks that Mrs Prince said had been given to her by Kenyans to sell in Australia, the ABC reports.

The Supreme Court jury in Darwin took five hours to reach its unanimous verdict.
