A man has died on a rural road south of Palmerston North after his car swerved off the road and into a ditch.
Police say the 56-year-old man came off the road known as No 1 Line in Tiakitahuna and died at the scene about 5.30pm on Tuesday.
Diversions were in place for about two hours while the serious crash unit attended, but the road was reopened later in the evening.
No other people were injured.
