Several children have been injured in a multi-vehicle crash in South Auckland and police say it's a miracle no one was killed.
Eight girls were involved in the three-vehicle crash on State Highway 20 in Counties Manukau by the Massey Road off-ramp about 5pm on Thursday.
Police say a vehicle failed to stop and crashed into the rear of two others.
Two children aged eight and 10 in one car were taken to Middlemore Hospital with injuries and have since been discharged.
Six other girls aged between two and 10 suffered moderate injuries and were treated at the scene.
Police have spoken to the driver they say failed to stop and believe alcohol was a major factor in the crash.
