A factory in South Taranaki has been badly damaged in a big fire.
The Taranaki By-Products factory at Okaiawa near Hawera was well ablaze when the alarm was raised at 11.45am on Sunday.
More than 60 fire-fighters from surrounding districts were called in to battle the fire, and it took an hour and a half to quell the flames.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
No one was injured in the blaze.
