Police have called in the Navy dive team as they continue to search for a 49-year-old man missing in Wellington Harbour since Sunday.
Uikilifi Peniamina of Upper Hutt was retrieving fishing nets with a companion when their small boat capsized and he was swept away.
Police say the dive team will fly from Auckland on Wednesday and should be in the water by the afternoon.
They say the team is able to use sonar equipment to survey the sea floor, which helps divers to explore it more thoroughly. The survey is expected to take up to two days.
