A Wellington woman has been flown to hospital after her car flipped and landed on its roof after a collision with a truck near Taupo.

Bay Trust Rescue helicopter staff say it appears a car and trailer has clipped a truck and trailer unit heading in the opposite direction on State Highway 1 near Oruanui, north of Taupo at 9.30am on Saturday.
The impact flipped the car and left it severely damaged and on its roof.
Of the two occupants in the car, a 62-year-old Wellington woman was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital with suspected chest injuries.
The truck driver was not injured.
