A search of Tauranga harbour has begun after a man vanished off Kauri Point wharf on Thursday.
Police say the man disappeared after he ended up in the water while fishing off the wharf at the northern end of the harbour on Thursday morning.
Police, the Coastguard and members of the public are looking for him.
The police dive squad is in Tauranga assisting in another operation and will join the search.
