A Hamilton man critically injured while trying to stop a bar fight is now in a stable condition.
Trevor Cochrane was hit in the head by a two-litre glass jug at the bar in Chartwell on 20 December last year.
The 55-year-old was initially put in an induced coma after having brain surgery.
A spokesperson for Waikato District Health Board said Mr Cochrane is out of his coma and stable on Wednesday.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with wounding with reckless disregard.
