Auditors have completed a draft report looking at whether Auckland ratepayers' money was spent during mayor Len Brown's two-year extra-marital affair.
A draft of the report by auditors Ernst & Young has been given to the council's chief executive. Responses to it will be considered before a final version is made public.
The report looked at whether council resources were used during the relationship with Bevan Chuang, a former member of a council advisory panel.
Mr Brown has said no council resources or funds were used.
