For the first time and as a trial, full audit reports about resthomes will become available as soon as they are completed and appear on a website being launched by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

The trial is for six months. Associate Health Minister Jo Goodhew says whether the full reports are useful will determine whether it's continued.
The website work has cost $2.2 million.

Consumer New Zealand hopes better access to Government information about resthomes will improve standards in the sector.
Chief executive Sue Chetwin told Morning Report a history of audits as well as the current ones will be available.
She said long reports should be summarised, but it is a good step that will force poor resthomes to lift their game.
