A Blenheim man died at his home on Saturday after a concrete water feature on which he was working fell on him.
Police said the incident happened at about 4pm at the 62-year-old man's address in the suburb of Springlands.
His wife and neighbour tried unsuccessfully to revive him, as did emergency services, but he died at the scene.
