Tensions between residents and prostitutes to be aired

A Christchurch city councillor is planning a meeting this week to try to find a resolution to tensions between residents and prostitutes on north Manchester Street.

Sex workers moved into the area when the central city was cordoned off after the earthquakes, but they have not returned to the central city since the cordons were lifted.

Cr Ali Jones says the problem needs to be solved because tensions with residents are increasing.

She says a solution can be worked out for everyone at Thursday's meeting.
