Police are examining two cars involved in the robbery of an Armourguard van in Upper Hutt on Friday afternoon.
The van, which was parked in Main Street, was held up by four masked men armed with guns just before 4.30pm.
Police said a forensic examination of two cars they used to flee the scene, should be finished on Sunday.
They say the offenders will have told other people about the heist, and they are appealing for those people to come forward.
