Marlborough Airport is set to more than double in size to match a growing increase in flights and passengers.
A major expansion has been approved after negotiations between the airport company, airlines and commercial tenants.
Marlborough Airport Limited is owned by ratepayers through the Marlborough District Council.
The passenger area is to be expanded to the south and a mezzanine floor is being considered to further increase passenger space.
Relocation of the check-in areas will increase the queuing space, while the baggage reclaim area will be expanded and located under cover.
Work is expected to begin in April and will take about six months to complete.
