A man has been arrested over the killing of a homeless man in Auckland.
Auckland City Police say they have arrested a 49-year-old man who will appear in Auckland District Court on Saturday charged with murder.
Steven Harris died after being attacked in the central city Myers Park.
Police say the arrested man presented himself at Auckland Central Police Station on Friday afternoon in the company of his lawyer.
The majority of Myers Park reopened to the public earlier on Friday.
Police say one of the three Asian people they were hoping to speak to has made contact with investigators and will be interviewed in the company of an interpreter on Saturday.
