Police in Christchurch are again warning contractors and tradespeople to be vigilant about security after a spate of commercial vehicle thefts, including a forklift.
Machinery has been stolen from several sites since mid-August and police say it is likely to be sold back into the rebuild construction market.
Given the demand for heavy contracting machinery, they believe the vehicles are being quickly re-painted and re-fitted.
