Seven district health board staff have been disciplined after an investigation found they looked up cricketer Jesse Ryder's medical records inappropriately.
Mr Ryder was admitted to Christchurch Hospital in March this year with a fractured skull and a collapsed lung from an assault outside a bar in the suburb of Merivale.
The investigation found three Canterbury health board employees breached Mr Ryder's privacy, as well as a staff member seconded from another DHB.
One staff member from the South Canterbury board and two from the West Coast board were also implicated.
Canterbury DHB chief executive David Meates said on Wednesday that his three staff have been subjected to a disciplinary process and a separate process has been undertaken for the staff employed by other district health boards.
Mr Meates said Mr Ryder has been provided with a copy of the report and is satisfied with the action taken.
