The police searching for a missing 23-year-old Auckland student hope international calls made from his mobile phone on the night he went missing will shed light on the case.
Srikanth Rayadurgam was last seen leaving his home in Mt Albert two weeks ago. His wallet and personal items were later found near the Westhaven Marina and in the water.
A police team scoured the area on Thursday after earlier sea, air and land searches found no trace of him.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Joe Aumua says records show his mobile phone was used on Karangahape Rd on the night he disappeared, and he was also seen at a National Bank ATM in the same street at about 2pm that day, so the area would be canvassed from 8pm on Thursday to see if anyone remembers seeing him.
