Tauranga police are calling for information from the public after a woman was assaulted at her rural property overnight on Tuesday.
They say the woman disturbed two people when she went to investigate noises at her home on Wairoa Road. She was assaulted and left unconscious.
The woman was taken to Tauranga Hospital by ambulance where she was treated for minor injuries.
Police say they don't have a description of the offenders and want to speak to anyone who has information that could assist.
