A service station in Christchurch was robbed by a man armed with a pistol on Sunday morning.
Police said he entered a Caltex service station in Hornby on Main South Road at about 5.45am on Sunday and demanded cigarettes and cash before running out of the station.
He was wearing a red scarf over his face, black pants and a hooded sweatshirt.
A police dog tracked a suspect before losing him in a park. But police have clear CCTV footage of him.
