Police are investigating the death of a woman in Havelock North.
The 48-year-old was found at a house in the Hawke's Bay town about 10pm on Friday.
Police are interviewing family members and other witnesses and forensic examinations are being carried out.
A local man, aged 48, has been taken into custody in relation to the death and is receiving treatment for injuries at Hawke's Bay Hospital.
