Police are continuing to examine the scene of a fatal shed fire near Hokitika early on Saturday morning.
Firefighters discovered a person's body at the fire site on a Kaniere Road property.
Police say the person will be formally identified once a post-mortem is done.
They are interviewing several people in relation to the incident and are asking for anyone with information to contact them.
