The Government has issued tender notices for the purchase of land for the Kapiti expressway.
Two sections of land on Leinster Avenue and one on Puriri Road will be used to construct the $630 million expressway which will link Mackay's Crossing to Peka Peka.
Kapiti Coast District Council and the Kapiti Coast Chamber of Commerce support the new 16km road, but there has been widespread opposition from residents and iwi whose land is affected.
Land owners have already been advised of their rights and anyone else with concerns has 20 days to object.
