A delegation of New Zealand war veterans will commemorate Anzac Day in New Caledonia this year.
Eighty-four veterans from World War II who served in the Pacific will attend a service in Noumea on 25 April.
Veterans' Affairs New Zealand manager Rick Ottaway says it will be the first time that many will have returned to the area.
The veterans, aged between 86 and 96, must have qualified for the Pacific Star Defence Medal during the war to be eligible to join the delegation.
