A man who admitted having objectionable material on his computer, including scenes of bestiality and violent rape fantasies, has avoided a jail sentence.
The 37-year-old was sentenced in Wellington District Court on Friday on two charges of possession of objectionable material.

Between October 2006 and December 2009, he downloaded 30 electronic images with running times of between a few seconds to three quarters of an hour.
Judge Bruce Davidson said since being released from a jail term for domestic violence the man had rebuilt his life and established a successful business.
He sentenced him to four months community detention and ordered he undertake extensive supervision, including psychological treatment and counselling, for 12 months.
