The Office of the Ombudsman is to get six more staff to deal with a mounting backlog of cases.
Last month, Chief Ombudsman Dame Beverley Wakem told Parliament the office was in crisis, sinking under the weight of a growing number of complaints.
Dame Beverley says the increase in the office's budget was approved by a Parliamentary committee this week.
She says the office will be advertising for lawyers to join its staff when the money is available.
