Extensive searching on Tuesday has failed to find a 73-year old man missing from his yacht north of Auckland.
Donald Ravenscroft was last heard from on Sunday evening when he phoned his wife to say he'd be driving home to Wellsford from his mooring in Mahurangi Harbour.
A search began on Monday after police found his car parked at Scott's landing.
His 3-metre inflatable boat was found tied to a tree across the Mahurangi Harbour with its outboard and a pair of wooden oars missing.
The dive squad searched the river on Tuesday and friends and family also helped with a shoreline search.
Police say Mr Ravenscroft may have swum after his inflatable when it drifted away from the launch.
Anyone who's seen Mr Ravenscroft - who is tall (more than 1.8 metres), of medium build and clean shaven with grey hair, should contact Warkworth police.
