The owners of a Wellington apartment block have been told to inspect the windows after a pane of glass fell 10 storeys and shattered on the footpath.
No-one was hurt when the three-metre by 1.5-metre window fell from The Montreaux Apartments building on The Terrace about 6.30am on Wednesday.
Wellington City Council spokesperson Richard MacLean says it has ordered the owners to make sure that all panels are secure.
Mr MacLean says buildings in the capital should be able to stand up to strong gusts on a windy day.
